OSHA
High-Voltage and Telecommunications Regulations Simplified is
designed to explain
the National Electrical Code and Occupational Safety and Health
Administration
regulations concerning electric power generation, transmission,
distribution,
and electrical protective equipment and how they are to be
applied.
The technology of modern high-voltage electrical systems are more
complicated
and sophisticated then before. OSHA feels regulations of such
systems
are necessary for the safety of electrical workers installing and
maintaining
such systems.
Extreme care and detailed planning should go into designing,
installing,
and maintaining high-voltage equipment due to the potential hazards
involved
with such systems.
OSHA 1910 with Subpart V and the new Subpart R along with the NEC,
NESC,
and IEEE Standards 516 and 524 will be discussed and their particular
relationship
to high-voltage systems will be outlined. Included for fast and
easy
reference are all the pertinent sections of each code and standard that
pertains to a particular design, installation, or maintenance
procedure.
The work practices and protective equipment to be utilized during the
operation
and maintenance of electric power, generation, transmission, and
distribution
facilities will be presented in detail.
In addition to the book, a set of master transparencies of every
illustration
found in the book is also available.
