Using a standard
Minimum IBM-486 DX33 or compatible Desk or Laptop computer, using Windows
3.1 or higher, industry standard electrical switching and motor control
components are emulated in the 'P-SIM 2000' software.
|
This program comes
complete with an exercise manual, containing over 200 electrical schematics
and a windows program to view th corresponding Ladder Logic Diagram. To

Programmable
Controller: Not Required for Basic and Intermediate Level Training.
|
Complete functional
operation of an industry standard Programmable Ladder Logic Controller
is accurately emulated by the 'P-SIM 2000' software running on a standard
IBM-486 or compatible computer. The internal Ladder Rung Editor closely
resembles that of an A-B PLC and the multitasking program scan accurately
emulates the typical on-line A-B program scan sequence.
|
For Advanced Manufacturer
Specific Training.
|
Using the optional
P-SIM I/O interface card which is mounted at and powered by the PLC, any
make of Programmable Controller offering a minimum of 8 Input and 8 Output
of 24VDC I/O can be easily linked to the user's desk or laptop computer
(Visual Output Industrial Process Control Indicator) via standard RS232
serial cabling.
|
Visual Output
Industrial Process Control Indicator:
|
Using a standard
IBM 486 or compatible computer with VGA display, the P-SIM 2000 software
provides dynamic simulation of typical Industrial processes in multicolor
real-time display.
|
Simulated Processes
respond accurately and in real-time to the Input and Output states of either
the Integral (software emulated) PLC or optionally to an external serial
linked (RS232) PLC.
|
The optional P-SIM
I/O interface card connects to the 24VDC I/O cards of a standard PLC and
converts these digital I/O signals to a serial format allowing connection
to the Standard RS232 serial port of the user's desk or laptop computer.
|
IBM Interface
for Process Modules: Not Required.
|
The P-SIM 2000 system
is designed to work with the client's standard desktop or laptop computers
without the need to have special interface or hardware cards installed.
Optional connection to an external PLC is readily made using standard RS232
serial cabling allowing the use of highly portable Laptop computers for
remote or off-site training sessions.

PLC Emulation
software (a P-SIM 2000 exclusive feature):
|
The P-SIM 2000 software
includes a full-featured built-in PLC Emulator package which runs concurrently
on the same computer with the Industrial applications software (simulations)
described above. With a single click of the mouse, the student may toggle
back and forth between the display of the animated process simulation or
the Ladder Rung Program Editor of the emulated PLC. The Program Editor
is both user friendly and full-featured. Students may add, delete and modify
program-rungs, branches and instructions using simple menu selections.
|
4 Input and Output
branches supported
|
To test the new
or modified ladder program, a single click of the mouse toggles the student
back to the Process Simulation screen and places the PLC in the 'Run' mode.
The process simulation will then react accurately to the student's newly
programmed rungs which are constantly being scanned in the background by
the PLC run-time emulator.
|
By incorporating
the Editor and run-time scanning of a PLC into software capable of running
and interacting with the industrial process simulations, P-SIM 2000 provides
a single computer hi-tech solution to Programmable controller student training,
whether running on the network of a computer Lab, or on a student's own
laptop computer. The P-SIM 2000 system allows a simple low-cost solution
to PLC training while attaining superior student concept retention.

Student Record
Disk, Manual and Instructor's Guide:
|
Both the P-SIM 2000
and P-SIM 1000 programs come complete with 1 student disk and manual for
the number of stations ordered, I.E. "(1 station) (5 station)." See pricing
page for the number of stations available. The disk can be used to record
the student's progress and stores the ladder logic programs developed by
the student for all simulations and Lab exercises. The disk can also be
used by the instructor to administer the programs.
