Realistic
Troubleshooting Simulations on CD-ROM
These programs are
totally revised as of January of 2007.
This
series of award winning interactive CD ROM training programs are ideal
for learning proven troubleshooting techniques and applying them in a
very realistic simulated environment. It consists of three programs:
| • |
Troubleshooting
- Basic Techniques
 |
| • |
Troubleshooting -
Control Circuits
|
| • |
Troubleshooting -
Motor Controls
|
See
descriptions below.
Features
These programs contain highly realistic simulations of electrical
equipment for the user to practice troubleshooting. Here the user can
perform most activities they would perform on actual equipment such as
taking meter readings, opening connections and replacing components.
While troubleshooting, the programs evaluate and track the user's
results and process. The programs also contain a section where an
expert guides the user through a systematic troubleshooting approach.
Who
Benefits
Both college students and apprentices find these programs increase both
their skills and confidence when troubleshooting electrical circuits.
Electrical and maintenance personnel also benefit by refining their
reasoning process and increasing the effectiveness of their
troubleshooting skills, resulting in reduced downtime of equipment.

Troubleshooting
? Basic Techniques provides practical information on
troubleshooting techniques including the following topics:
Troubleshooting Safety, A Systematic Approach to
Troubleshooting, and Basic Testing Techniques. With this program
you don?t just read about troubleshooting ? you actually get
to troubleshoot electrical faults. Included is a highly
realistic simulation of a lighting circuit with 20 actual faults
to solve. This simulation allows you to operate the circuit,
take meter readings, remove wires, replace components and other
troubleshooting activities. The program also contains a section
where an expert guides you through sample faults as well as a
complete scoring system to measure your success. Use the
feedback from the built in evaluation system to improve your
troubleshooting skills and then keep them sharp by using these
programs over and over again.

| In
this program you actually get to troubleshoot faults on a
simulation of a reversing motor control circuit for a industrial
garage door. This circuit contains such components as limit
switches, three phase induction motor, reversing motor starter
with overloads, push buttons, step down transformer, and safety
switch. 28 faults of varying difficulty are available to be
solved, with 4 being extremely challenging! Benefit from the
experience of experts as they provide their expertise on solving
3 sample faults by walking you through a systematic
troubleshooting process. Determine your troubleshooting score
using the built in troubleshooting scoring and evaluation
system. |
