I Want My Sequence Numbers ----- Automatically !!

If you're the kind of programmer that loves those dreaded sequence numbers in your program, the Fanuc controls love you too. By changing a parameter in Fanuc controls as indicated below, you can have the control automatically add a sequence number (N number) using the designated number count increment every time you press the EOB (end of block) for insertion. If you have one of the controls as listed below, you can have your sequence number and eat it too -- automatically.

Fanuc Controls Model 10/11/12 :

  • Control To Add Sequence Numbers Automatically = Parameter #10 - 2nd digit from the right set to 1.
  • Sequence Number Initial Value = Parameter #31
  • Sequence Number Increment Amount = Parameter # 32

  • Fanuc Controls Model 16/18 :
  • Control To Add Sequence Numbers Automatically = Parameter #0000 - 6th digit from the right set to 1.
  • Sequence Number Increment Amount = Parameter # 3216

  • NOTICE --- Extreme care should always be taken whenever altering the machine control parameters. Among other steps, always write down the values before changing any parameters. If you are unfamiliar with changing your controls parameters, consult with your machine tool dealer / builder before making any changes.
